The bubble tea craze, it seems, is gaining ground once again, with players like Gong Cha, Koi, LiHO, Sharetea, Play Made, and heaven knows how many more in every nook and cranny of Singapore. But since people here really love their bubble tea — enough to get in line behind 200 people for a cup — it’s no surprise that yet another brand is coming to our shores in January.

Enter Bobii Frutii, a massively popular Taiwanese chain that has also seen crazy queues at its stores in Taiwan and China. Due to open early January at The Clementi Mall, the brand is known for its rainbow-hued “layered” drinks made with no artificial colorings, preservatives, or high fructose corn syrup.

And if you’re wondering why local actor Nat Ho’s face is splashed all over Bobii Frutii’s Facebook page, that’s because he’s one of the partners bringing the brand to our shores (plus he’s its brand ambassador in Singapore). According to The Straits Times, this is the 33-year-old’s second F&B business — his first was Love Bento at Shaw Tower.

Yep, that’s him clutching a cup below.

Anyway, at Bobii Frutii’s stall here, expect a selection similar to the one in Taiwan, with more than 30 drinks to choose from, including flavors exclusive to Singapore such as cheese teas (but why). Separated into four categories, the menu features milk teas, ice blended drinks, matcha concoctions, and fruit teas, with preservative-free pearls that come in three types: original, butterfly pea, and brown sugar.

As for those of you who don’t live anywhere near Clementi, the brand has plans to open up eight outlets in the three months after its debut here, 8 Days noted. In the meantime, find it at #04-K4 at Clementi Mall in January.
