Meryll Soriano yesterday said that her son with partner Joem Bascon was planned.
The actress said this in a social media post, where she attached a photo showing her and Bascon sitting on a flight of stairs.
“When we found out we were parents after planning and trying. Voilà! What a happy day,” she said.

Meryll and Bascon have borne the brunt of social media criticism after announcing the birth of their son at the start of the year. Before reconciling with Meryll, Bascon dated vlogger Crisha Uy for eight years, and they were even engaged to be married. However, in 2019 Uy confessed in an emotional video that he dumped her because he had fallen out of love.

Rumors swirled that Bascon ditched Uy in favor of Meryll, whom he dated in 2009 until the actress had to leave the Philippines to study overseas.
Uy said a few weeks ago that she had long known that Bascon left her for Meryll. She added that while she had moved on from her ex-boyfriend, she was “mad” because she felt betrayed “all over again” after Meryll and Bascon announced the birth of their son.
Meryll is considered somewhat a member of showbiz royalty. Her aunt is multi-awarded actress Maricel Soriano, while her father is the wildly popular game show host Willie Revillame. Bascon is known for the television shows Starla, where he reportedly rekindled his romance with Meryll, and I Love Betty La Fea.
