The North-South Expressway near Seremban was the scene of a grisly accident between two lorries and a motorbike Monday night, resulting in the death of three individuals and injuring two more.
Officers from the state’s Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department have said that the crash occurred at 11pm near kilometer 269.9 in the north-bound lane of the highway, killing motorcyclist and his rider, Muhammad Idham Baharudin and Nurul Farah Safwannah Abdul Rashid, both 20, and one of the lorry drivers, V. Ravendran, 26.
All three died at the scene, according to reports.
Police say the motorcycle-riding pair left Seremban on the way to Kajang Monday night, when the Yamaha Y15 bike they were traveling on skidded and crashed along the emergency lane of the motorway.
Having witnessed the crash, a driver carrying a lorry full of gas cylinders pulled over to help the pair, along with another motorcyclist. However, a second lorry driver, carrying cement, was unable to stop his vehicle and crashed into the gas-cylinder carrying truck, pushing that truck into Muhammad Idham and Nurul Farrah, killing both. The cement lorry driver also died from the impact.
