The Federal Government has announced that the third and final disbursement of the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) cash assistance to qualified Malaysians will be expedited to September 21, just before the Hari Raya Aidiladha Muslim celebration on September 24.
Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said in a statement today that the payment, which was initially scheduled for the end of September, was pushed forward to help Malaysian Muslims pay for their Aidiladha preparations.
“The government hopes this financial assistance will help the people buy the necessities and undertake preparations to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha,” he said, as quoted by The Malaysian Reserve.
The BR1M cash assistance for 2015 had been split into three separate payments under the 2015 Budget, with the first two instalments made on Januarhy 15 and May 28.
Those who are eligible to receive BR1M payments under the federal scheme will have this latest instalment transferred directly into the bank accounts they had registered with.
