According to Sarawak Report, the group photo, shot on board a luxury yacht, was taken some time in August 2009. The SR website was down with a 503 Service Unavailable notice from around 11am to 2.30pm today.
Najib has been beleagured by a report published by The Wall Street Journal last week alleging that shortly before the 13th General Elections in 2013, 1MDB funds to the tune of USD700 million (RM2.65 billion) were transferred into Najib’s personal bank accounts, ostensibly to finance the Barisan Nasional election campaign.
He has since labelled the allegations as part of “political sabotage” by his enemies, and namechecked former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad as having colluded with the WSJ to spread lies about him.
