Here are several Indian orphanages that could use your help this Deepavali

Festive seasons are meant to be joyous, it’s that time of the year when you indulge yourself in delicious home-cooked food, meet long-distance relatives and catch up on whatever family gossip you have been missing out on.

However, that is not always the case for some parts of society. While some of us are lucky to be complaining about the long hours spent visiting relatives and overeating, some yearn for it.

The celebration of Deepavali or Diwali next weekend is supposed to symbolise the victory of light over darkness and if you would like to brighten up the faces of those who are not as fortunate as you then you have come to the right place.

In the spirit of this festival, we have listed down several underfunded orphanages in the Indian community that could use your help. This list is also thanks to Twitter user @SyarifahAmin who recently initiated a Deepavali fundraising campaign in collaboration with Project Bliss, Angkatan Demokrat, and Tulus Volunteers.
