Police in Johor Baru raided a home in Taman Suria Muafakat yesteday and found a Hari Raya open house of a very different sort: instead of cookies and rendang, the house was awash with heroin and crystal meth.
Nine people ranging from their 20s to their 30s, including a woman, were arrested in the 10.45am raid on the house, which police suspect was used as the location of a weekend-long narcotics bender.
Police officers were tipped off on the activities in the house, and when they burst in found the suspects still high from their fix.
Johor Baru Selatan police chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh told The Rakyat Post‘s Ben Tan that his officers confiscated 16 packets of heroin weighing a total of 38 grammes, two packets of a crystaline substance believed to be syabu (crystal meth) weighing 1.7 grammes, and assorted drug paraphernalia from the house.
Sulaiman said police would track down the source of the drugs, with more arrests possibly to come.
