Bersih 4 protesters gathered at the St John’s Cathedral for Sunday Mass this morning, The Star Online‘s Victoria Brown reports.
Many, clad in yellow, crowded the pews during the 7am mass, as parish priest Monsignor Leonard Lexson praised their role in the rally.
“After my prayers at 1am, I saw people sleeping on the roadside and parking lot and I thought: ‘This I strength of our county and church’,” he was quoted as saying.
“We will continue praying till the clock strikes midnight for the people of this nation and around the globe. We will be praying for fair elections, good governance, what is happening with corruption, and to pray for all that is right and just,” Lexson was quoted further.
Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur Julian Leow had, last week, announced that three churches in the city would be open for protesters to seek refuse during the two-day rally, which has so far continued peacefully overnight.
