Nikita Mirzani fought the law, but the law won – and now she’s ready to go to jail.
The provocative actress’ legal woes began in September 2012, when she and a friend allegedly attacked sisters Olivia Sandie and Beverly Sandie at the SHY Rooftop bar in Kemang, an incident that supposedly involved criminal levels of punching, kicking and hair pulling.
After being convicted and sentenced to four months in jail, Nikita and her lawyer appealed to the Jakarta High Court. But instead of having her sentence overturned, the judge decided to tack an extra month to her jail time.
Nikita then appealed to Indonesia’s Supreme Court but that was recently rejected as well.
Now, out of legal options, the mother of two has decided to accept her fate.
“I have accepted the invitation of the prosecutor to accept the rest of the sentence based on his calculation,” Nikita said on the steps of the South Jakarta District Court today as quoted by Tribunnews.
She added, “As a good citizen of Indonesia, I will try to obey so that the case can be completed quickly.”
