You can now view TransJakarta bus schedules on Google Maps

For all its virtues, the one thing that was clearly lacking with the TransJakarta is that it was difficult to predict when buses would arrive at each bus stop.

Now, thanks to already existing technology, Google Maps can do the predicting for you. The app, which should already be installed in most people’s smartphones, recently introduced a new feature that allows users to see TransJakarta bus schedules and routes using the map.

“This means that you can plan your journey with more ease,” Google Maps Director Suren Ruhela wrote, as picked up by Detik today.

Two use the new feature, users have to select a point of origin and a destination in the app, and a TransJakarta option will appear along with other modes of transport.

“We can also view the time that the bus will arrive at the chosen bus stop, as well as an estimate of trip duration,” Suren added.

Information on schedules and estimated arrival times will be updated in real-time for all buses on corridors 1-12.

TransJakarta charges a flat rate of Rp 3,500 per trip.
