The body of a naked woman was found floating on the Ciliwung River, underneath the Satu Duit bridge, in Tanah Sareal, Bogor today.
The woman was found by a local resident, Hendra Sutisna, floating face down at around 8:30am.
“This morning I was sorting through cardboard boxes when I saw something floating underneath the bridge. I thought it was a doll, but I looked at it carefully and it turned out to be a body,” Hendra said, as quoted by Warta Kota.
Hendra, with the help of some locals, went down to the river to retrieve the woman’s body before she drifted away.
“I don’t know the woman at all. It doesn’t look like she’s been dead for long, her corpse seems fresh,” Hendra said.
Tambok Manulang, head of the Crime Investigation Unit at the Tanah Sareal Police, said the police have already questioned witnesses and are investigating the case.
“We don’t know the cause of death. We took the body to PMI Hospital for an autopsy,” Tambok said at the scene.
Authorities did not find any of the woman’s belongings at the scene.
The unidentified woman is 160cm tall, with hair down to her shoulders and brown skin. She was wearing a brown knitted bracelet when she was found.
