There’s strict parenting, then there’s insane parenting.
Suhemi, a 33-year-old woman, punished her 10-year-old stepson Denis Aprilian just because the boy came home late from playing outside on Sunday afternoon.
Outraged, Suhemi branded Denis’ cheek with a hot iron in their home in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta.
When Denis’ father, Uka came home later that day, he was shocked to see that Denis was crying and he was sporting a burn mark on his cheek.
“She said he deserved it. She went too far,” Uka said, as quoted by Warta Kota yesterday.
But Suhemi’s abuse towards Denis didn’t end there. When Uka confronted his wife about the abuse, Suhemi got even angrier and stepped on Denis’ head as the boy was lying on the floor.
Uka then reported his wife to the police.
Suhemi was arrested on Sunday, and is currently being interrogated by the Women and Children Protection Unit at the East Jakarta Police.
