A 56-year-old woman named Masriah may face criminal charges after she was caught on camera pouring urine on her neighbor’s house in Sidoarjo, East Java – something she has reportedly been doing for six years.

The victim, Wiwik, said that Masriah had been pouring urine on her house almost every day since 2017. She said that Masriah would also throw garbage and dirty water at her house.

“I don’t know why that person would always do something like that to my family,” Wiwik told Detik on Tuesday.

Wiwik said that she had tried to talk to Masriah about the issue, but Masriah had refused to stop. She said that she had also filed a police report, but Masriah had not been arrested.

Police summoned Masriah for questioning this week, after which they managed to establish a motive.

“Her motive was that she wanted Wiwik’s family to be uncomfortable in that house. When that happens, [the culprit was hoping that] the house would be sold cheaply,” Sukodono Precinct Chief Andri Tri Sasongko said.

The house, police said, formerly belonged to Masriah’s sibling before it was sold to Wiwik. Masriah has been keen to own the property ever since.

Interestingly, Masriah was first caught pouring urine on Wiwik’s house in 2017. Back then, village officials mediated the two parties, after which Masriah apologized and promised not to bother Wiwik again.

Police say Masriah may face criminal charges as investigation into the case continues.
