Indonesia is in the midst of another possible major pornography scandal, this time involving a woman wearing a niqab (face veil).
A clip showing a woman wearing modest clothing and acting indecently in a public place in Ciwidey, Bandung Regency has gone viral on social media. The police have taken action and are investigating the case.
Against the picturesque backdrop of a tea plantation, the unidentified woman squats as she lifts her denim long dress to expose her genitals to the camera. Her face is obscured by her face veil and head covering.
Police in Bandung say they are aware of the viral video.
“We are investigating,” Bandung Police Chief Grand Commissioner Kusworo said today.
It would surprise few in Indonesia if police were to quickly locate and apprehend the woman in the video, as well as anybody else who is involved in its production.
Producing and distributing porn is a serious crime in Indonesia, yet adult content creators in the country consistently defy the law whether for kink, profit, or both.
This case may be particularly scandalous, especially among Muslims, who may see the woman’s attire choice as blasphemous and disrespectful to their faith.
