Locals at Balaraja, Tangerang, were shocked to find the body of a naked woman drowned in a pond back in June 24. But her case remains a mystery to this day.
The victim was found under extremely suspicious circumstances.
“From the crime scene investigation, we suspect the victim was murdered because bricks were tied to her arms [to weigh her down and drown her in the pond],” said Krishna Murti, director of the Public Crimes Unit at the Jakarta Police today, as quoted by Okezone.
Initial autopsy results also revealed that there were wounds near her jaw. It is suspected that the victim’s killer bludgeoned her before she was drowned.
The identity of the victim has not been determined. The victim’s facial and other physical features are also reportedly unrecognizable, as it appears she died a considerably long time ago.
