Woman claws police officer’s face after getting ticketed for using her phone while driving

Some Jakartans can’t seem to accept getting ticketed by the police (possibly because they’re so used to being able to bribe them off?).

Last weekend, a Go-Jek driver supposedly yelled rudely at a police officer that was ticketing him, leading the policeman to hit the driver and create an instantly viral video

Last week, another violent episode took place over a ticket, but in this case it was the policeman who got assaulted.

North Jakarta Police Lieutenant Commander Sudarmanto said that a member of the traffic police, Brigadier Rustam, had his face scratched by a 45-year-old housewife, identified as HC.

“Yes, well it’s true. The incident already took place a week ago in the area of Kelapa Gading. It happened because the woman did not accept being ticketed by our officer,” Sudarmanto told Tribunnews on Wednesday.

Sudarmanto said HC was pulled over by Rustam for using her mobile phone while driving and given a ticket for violating the law and endangering others. Rustam also found that her driver’s license and vehicle registration had already expired.

According to Sudarmanto, when Rustam started questioning HC about this, she flew into a rage and started scratching the officer’s face and kicking him while uttering insults.

“Our officer had his face scratched because she did not accept being ticketed. Not only clawing him, she even hit the officer with her cell phone.”

Rustam reported the incident to the Kelapa Gading Police and HC had her vehicle impounded. But somehow she managed to flee the scene of the attack and she remains on the run.

“It is true. The traffic officer reported the incident to us and we are still investigating as the perpetrator has fled,” confirmed Kelapa Gading Police Lieutenant Faruq.
