EN, a 50-year-old woman, lost a lot more than she could have anticipated when she asked her husband DA, 56, for a divorce.
According to the East Jakarta Police, cracks started to appear in the couple’s marriage when DA started to act violent towards his wife. EN eventually asked for a divorce while they were at a night market on Friday, February 13. This led to a heated argument between the pair in public.
As they were driving home on their motorcycle, DA told EN to buy a pair of scissors. Not a shaver or barber shears, but a pair of ordinary scissors.
“The suspect then took the scissors, and then he cut off the victim’s hair entirely until she was bald,” said Police Comr Sri Bhayangkari, head of Public Relations at East Jakarta Police, as quoted by Kompas on Tuesday.
The victim, who was still sitting on the motorcycle, was pushed to the ground. She received bruises on her left cheek and right foot from the fall. Not content, DA then soaked his wife with sewage water.
The suspect then ran away and has not been found to this day.
“We’re still trying to locate the suspect as he ran away. Hopefully we’ll get him in the near future,” Sri said.
