To be honest, we’re not sure the couple in the photo is Indonesian, but they certainly look like they could be Indonesian. The most important thing is that looking at this picture really creeped us out and now we have to pass it along – like in “The Ring” – lest we see our reflections start to do funny things the next time we look in a mirror.
The image was originally posted on Twitter by an account @itsthemans but was later deleted. However it was up long enough for the freaky photo of the couple to go massively viral on social media, top Reddit’s r/creepy subreddit and be written about by numerous websites.
Of course you could just dismiss it as a photoshopped image, but it seems to pass this Foto Forensics analysis without showing obvious signs of editing.
Also it looks like this wouldn’t be the first photo of its kind to come out of Indonesia. We found this on the Reddit thread linked to above.
Nevertheless, we are still quite sure that these images aren’t really real. Nope, definitely not. But, uhm, maybe… we’ll avoid taking photos in front of any mirrors any time soon. Just to be safe.
