What is the market price of LSD in Jakarta?

A “blotter” of LSD

The vast majority of drug related crimes in Jakarta are attributed to the possession and use of methamphetamines, ecstasy and marijuana. But after Christopher Daniel, the driver who caused the horrific traffic incidents that killed 4 in South Jakarta on Tuesday night, was found to have tested positive for using lysergic acid diethylamide, everybody is talking about LSD and how the 22-year-old could have acquired it here in Jakarta.

Asked about the market price of LSD in the Indonesian capital, the police say you can get “a hit” for as little as Rp. 250,000.

“A portion [of LSD] is around Rp 250,000 to Rp 300,000,” said Commissioner Sumirat Dwiyanto, Head of Public Relations at the National Narcotics Agency, as quoted by Kompas.

However, Sumirat said LSD was rarely found in nightclubs like other drugs.

“It’s rarely found in entertainment venues,” Sumirat said, adding that LSD was unknown compared to other party drugs. “The most prevalent [drugs] in Jakarta are marijuana, methamphetamine, and ecstasy and other newer kinds of drugs.”
