The West Jakarta Police are not playing around. By the police’s own admission, they have shot 12 suspected preman (thugs) in just the last 10 days, one of whom is currently in critical condition.
West Jakarta Police Commander Bahtiar Ujang said all 12 were allegedly involved in various kinds of crimes, including muggings and motorcycle theft.
“We disabled all the suspects by shooting them in the leg. It’s part of our decisive action,” said Ujang today as quoted by MetroTV.
According to Ujang, officers were forced to shoot all 12 thugs for trying trying to escape arrest.
From the 12 suspected criminals, police seized evidence including 14 motorcycles, 18 mobile phones, two laptops, daggers, sickles and homemade firearms.
