What are friends for? Well, true friends will always have your back, which, in this case, is making sure you can go to school without having to worry about your shoes falling apart.

Twitter user @akuluka yesterday posted this video showing a grade 8 student at a public school in Tasikmalaya, West Java wearing a pair of run-down shoes.

His classmates then pooled together their pocket money to buy him a new pair of shoes. His unbridled joy upon receiving the new kicks was simply priceless.

The video has been viewed 1.9 million times as of this article’s publication. Even Indonesia’s largest corporations had words of praise for the boys.

“Five stars for this kind of friendship,” rideshare app Grab Indonesia wrote in the comments.

“Hopefully your friendship will persevere and become a source of inspiration for many,” crowdfunding platform KitaBisa wrote.

“Examples of real men here,” men’s skincare brand Elvicto chimed in.
