Many motorcyclists in Indonesia drive where they legally shouldn’t. Amid increased complaints on social media, the Jakarta police have recently begun cracking down on motorcyclist driving on pedestrian sidewalks. But in her apparent attempt to avoid traffic, a woman in the capital’s neighboring regency of Bogor did something much more embarrassing, and damaging, than driving on a sidewalk.

The above photo of a woman getting her motorcycle stuck in the freshly-laid, wet concrete for a road rerpair in Bogor recently went viral on social media. It’s clear from the photo that she had tried to drive through it for a while, given the long tire track in the concrete, even though the newly laid road was clearly off limits to vehicles so that the concrete could set.

According to the photo’s original poster on Facebook, the incident took place on Jalan Pahlawan in the Citereup district of Bogor. The regency’s head of Public Works, Yani Hasan, said he was shocked and disappointed by the motorcyclist’s behavior.

“The road fixing project is new. That particular road is on the agenda for repair. The budget allocated (for the repair of the whole road) is Rp 14 billion ($1.05 million),” Yani said, as quoted by Kompas yesterday.

Yani did not reveal the cost of the damage specifically caused by the motorcyclist, and whether or not they have applied new concrete over the motorcycle’s deep tire track.

The woman in the photo has not been identified. We’re guessing her off-the-track driving must’ve caused some significant damage to her motorcycle, too.
