A driver for ride-sharing service Grab has seen a video he posted to make fun of one of his passengers come back and bite him in the behind after it went viral.
The video, which was reportedly taken and shared by the driver himself, shows a sarcasm-laden argument between the driver and one of his passengers in the backseat. It appears that the argument was the result of the passengers setting the wrong drop off point and demanding that they be taken to their desired destination anyway.

“The passenger is king. The king is the passenger. She even opened the window as she pleased,” the driver said about the younger passenger in the back seat, while the older passenger kept trying to calm the situation.
“That’s because the driver is a jerk. I asked to be let out of the car but he wouldn’t let me,” the younger passenger retorted, having opened the car door. She then screamed for help from people they were passing by.
“Ignore her. She put the wrong drop off point but she asked to be dropped off at her destination. We’re just drivers. If you wanna close, then that’s fine. I can report this uncomfortable situation to the police. We have a procedure that we have to drop off our passengers (at the drop off point according to the app),” the driver said to the camera.
It’s unclear what happened after the end of the video, but Grab has taken stern action against the driver after the video went viral.
“Based on the evidence from the incident, we have temporarily terminated (our partnership with) the driver. We are also willing to mediate between the driver and the passengers,” said Grab Indonesia Marketing Director Mediko Azwar, as quoted by Detik yesterday.
Grab is trying to identify and locate the passengers in order to apologize to them for the incident. The incident reportedly took place in Jakarta.
