VIRAL: Netizens outraged as woman appears to have sex during Smule tele-karaoke duet

Lately, it seems the social music making apps by developer Smule have become all the rage in many parts of Indonesia. Smule’s ‘Sing! Karaoke’ app, which allows people separated geographically to sing a duet via video conference, has also produced hilarious moments like these, as compiled by our sister site Coconuts Indonesia.

Of course, there’s no controlling how people will express themselves during these performances. But one woman possibly went too far recently by singing a Smule duet while having sex with her partner.

Well, we’re not entirely sure if they were in fact having sex during the performance, though the noises heard throughout suggests that they were at least heavily making out. Strangely, the duet partner, also a woman, seems to be so into her own performance that she doesn’t care about what is unfolding on the other screen.

Due to Indonesia’s strict anti-pornography laws, we can’t share the video here. But you can watch it in its entirety on Youtube (where it has been uploaded countless times) if you know the right keywords.

After the video went viral, it, unsurprisingly, got negative reactions from many netizens, one of whom went so far as to offer a Rp 1 million reward to anybody who could track down the couple in the video.

However, the couple recently came forward and apologized to the people of their hometown, Banyuwangi, East Java, for embarrassing them. Their apology was recorded in this video:

“I made a mistake, the [person in the] video was me and I wasn’t aware at the time,” the woman said, adding that she and her partner were drunk during the duet, as quoted by Tribun.

It remains to be seen if the couple will face any criminal charges for their action.
