Many Asian students know the pain of having to leave their homelands and families for long periods of time in order to pursue their educations. Youtuber Hadi Wibawa from Medan, Indonesia, is one of those students. He spent three years away from his hometown while studying at university and did not have the chance to meet with his parents during that time.
He did however, manage to undergo quite a physical transformation during that time, dropping a considerable 20 kg (perhaps because he no longer had access to his mother’s cooking?).
As Hadi had managed to keep his new look a secret from his folk all of the time he was away, he decided to play an epic prank on them when he was finally able to make it back to Medan. With the help of his brothers, he got his parents to come to a restaurant where he pretended to be a stranger sitting at a nearby table.
We don’t want to spoil it by describing it too much, but the reactions of his mother and father are absolutely priceless – both hilarious and heartwarming. It’s no wonder the video has already been viewed over 3.8 million times on Youtube!
