VIDEO: Muslim clerics join Jewish Indonesians for Passover ceremony in Jakarta

There are thought to be less than 200 practicing Jew in Indonesia. Due to anti-semitism and the fact that Judaism is not one of the six religions officially recognized by the Indonesian government, many Jewish Indonesians hide their religious identity by practicing their faith underground – or claiming they’re Christian on the ID cards.

Jewish Indonesians hope that interfaith events, like a recent ceremony marking the sacred Jewish holiday of Passover, will help them one day gain an equal footing in the Muslim majority nation.
