The above video was filmed by KS, the founder of fixie bicycle group Fixietas Jakarta, in the area around Lebak Bulus in South Jakarta. The cyclist managed to film a police officer on a motorcycle breaking numerous traffic laws during the 1:36 long video, including driving on a sidewalk and stopping traffic so he could run a red light

There are only two ways of getting through Jakarta traffic smoothly:
1. Ride a Bicycle
2. Be the Police
Now to be fair, there’s a chance that this cop had a very important emergency to get to, which is why he flagrantly disregarded so many of the rules he’s supposed to be enforcing.
But the casual way that he breaks the rules (and the fact that a bicyclist can easily keep up with him) indicates to us that he was not in any real hurry and simply broke the rules because he could.
One of the great things about this day and age is that so many more people have video cameras to catch this kind of stuff. Hopefully it goes viral and will force police officers to think twice before breaking the laws themselves.
