Dwi Purnama Putri, a student at University of Indonesia (UI)’s Law Faculty, was found dead in her room in a boarding home on Jalan Kober, Pondok Cina, Depok yesterday afternoon.
The boarding home’s security guards knocked on her door all day yesterday, but no one came to the door.
“The owners of the boarding home broke into her room [and found her dead inside],” said police officer Purdianto at the scene, as quoted by Metro TV today.
Dwi was found dead at around 6pm. The cause of her death is still unclear.
Dwi is the second UI student to have mysteriously died this year. The police have yet to name a murder suspect in the death of 19-year-old Akseyna Ahad Dori, who was found drowned in UI’s Lake Kenanga in late March.
