Centennial Tower, a skyscraper currently being built on Jalan Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, caught on fire at around 1:45am today.
According to Detik, the fire was thought to have originated in the basement and didn’t spread to other parts of the building. But the fire and thick black smoke trapped several workers in the building.
In all, firefighters managed to rescue six workers who were trapped inside the building.
Unfortunately, one worker was found dead in the basement by the time firefighters managed to finally get down there.
Firefighters managed to put out the fire at 5:50am.
