Two middle school students, identified as APW (13) and ARS (13), tried to rob Suheri (54), the driver of the ojek they rode on yesterday.
Suheri had just driven the two boys to their neighborhood in Sawangan, Depok at around 5pm when they tried to mug him with a folding knife.
Luckily, Suheri was still on his motorcycle and he quickly took off to avoid the mugging. He then reported the two boys to a security guard nearby.
The police arrived soon after to arrest the teenagers, who were in hiding as they feared they would become targeted by an angry mob.
“Because the two suspects are underage, they are to be punished in accordance to the Child Protection Act no.23/2002,” said Saderi, head of the Sawangan Police Dept, as quoted by Warta Kota today.
