It’s being billed as “The Fight of the Century.” This Saturday night in Las Vegas (Sunday morning Jakarta time) Floyd Mayweather Jr, the undefeated, five-division world champion, will take on eight-division world champion Manny “Pac-man” Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
It’s a fight that has been in the making for over 5 years, and boxing fans from across the world are eagerly anticipating what many expect to be a legendary battle of two of boxing history’s greatest champions.
In many parts of the world, you would have to pay as much as $100 to get pay-per-view access to watch the big fight, or go to a sports bar that was shelling out for the privilege.
But here in Indonesia, local broadcaster TVOne has obtained the rights to show “The Fight of the Century” and will be broadcasting it to the public for all to see (the only cost you’ll have to pay is enduring endless cigarette commercials interludes).
The broadcast begins at 8 am Jakarta time, but Mayweather and Pacquiao will not step into the ring until approximately 10 am (which gives you a bit more time to sleep in if all you want to do is watch the fight).
