Air Maleo, one of the six dissolved airlines.
It’s probably safe to assume that none of us has ever flown on Asco Nusa Air, Air Maleo, Manunggal Air Service, Nusantara Buana Air, Survey Udara Penas, and Jatayu Air.
That’s because all six airlines currently don’t actually own any airplanes. One of them, Survey Udara Penas, never even owned an airplane.
The Transportation Ministry yesterday dissolved the six airlines since there’s no longer a reason for them to exist.
“If they don’t meet flight regulations then we must act [against them],” said Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan, as quoted by Warta Kota yesterday.
According to aviation laws, airlines are required to have at least 5 airplanes in their fleet.
We have to wonder if the dissolved airlines were just created to be fronts for unscrupulous corrupt dealings.
