Inner city bus service TransJakarta has today launched a new line, 6Q, which connects Epicentrum and Taman Rasuna Apartments in Kuningan to Kota Kasablanka Mall on Jalan Casablanca.

The route, while short on paper, services a densely populated residential and commercial area of Jakarta. It runs in a loop from Taman Rasuna Tower 17  to Kota Kasablanka Mall, both in a clockwise and in an anti-clockwise direction, stopping at Plaza Festival, Puri Casablanca, Menteng Dalam 1 Primary School (SD), Epiwalk Epicentrum, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office, and Halimun Raya.

The 6Q line is integrated with the 6 line, which connects to the Ragunan Zoo and Dukuh Atas 2 bus stops.

“By opening the new line, TransJakarta is serving passengers in the residential areas such as Rasuna, because public transportation is a melting pot for all,” TransJakarta spokesperson Nadia Diposanjoyo said in a written statement, today as picked up by Detik.

Nadia said she hopes the area’s residents will shift to public transportation from their private vehicles. The 6Q line operates from 5 am to 10 pm everyday, with the usual IDR3,500 (US$0.24) flat TransJakarta fare.
