​Trans 7 news anchor Andrie Djarot passes away at 36

Andrie Nugroho Djarot, a news anchor for Trans 7’s “Redaksi Pagi” program, passed away this morning. Sources close to Andrie say he passed away after suffering from pneumonia.

Andrie, who was born on January 3, 1979, had quite a promising career in the Indonesian media. Before Trans 7, Andrie also anchored TV One’s popular morning news program “Apa Kabar Indonesia.”

Away from TV, Andrie won the Abang None Jakarta pageant in 2005. He also featured in a movie, “Cinta 24 Karat.”

Andrie’s funeral is currently being held in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. He will be buried at the Mayang Sari Cemetery in Jati Asih, East Jakarta this afternoon.
