Train hits woman on her way to take a bath

The sad truth is that many Jakartans don’t have access to running water at home and have to travel some way just to perform basic tasks such as taking a bath.

One woman, 35-year-old Siti Khodijah, was walking towards a water source to take a bath early on Sunday morning when tragedy struck as she crossed the railroad by Jalan Kramat, Kebayoran Lama.

“All of a sudden a train went past and hit her, killing her on the spot,” said Kebayoran Lama Police Spokesman Maryanto, as quoted by Okezone yesterday.

“She received fatal wounds to the head and both of her legs were broken.”

Her body was taken to the Fatmawati Hospital for an autopsy.

So for all of us who are lucky enough to have running water at home, be thankful that we don’t have to risk our lives just to bathe every morning.
