There’s the usual way of complaining about poor service, and then there’s this SUV owner’s conspicuous way. One of them has a higher chance of getting the service-giver’s attention due to PR embarrassment than the other.
Yesterday, a photo of a Toyota Fortuner SUV on the road in Jakarta went viral, mainly because its owner had put up stickers spelling out his/her displeasure at Toyota’s repair service.
The stickers read, “MY TOYOTA SUCKS!! BRAKES PROBLEM. NO SOLUTION NO RESPONSE FROM TAM.”
It can be ascertained from the unmissable stickers that the owner had recently gone to official Toyota car repair agents TAM (Toyota Astra Motor) but was not able to get the Fortuner’s brakes fixed.
It appears that the bold show of criticism had its desired effect, as TAM said they have gone to meet with the unidentified owner and carry out comprehensive checks and repairs on the SUV.
“We will immediately handle the car because it’s already with us,” TAM executive general manager Fransiscus Soerjopranoto told KompasOtomotif yesterday.
The last couple of weeks have not been so kind for the Toyota Fortuner. In mid-November, the SUV became the subject of many humorous memes after House speaker, avoider of corruption charges, and now corruption suspect Setya Novanto was being driven in one that crashed into an electric pole.
