If you’re heading to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on October 13 or anytime thereafter, you’d best prepare an extra Rp 1,000 coin lest you be caught off guard and are forced to search for one in between your car seat cushions.
The Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) announced today that toll rates at the Soedijatmo toll gate would be raised from Rp 6,000 to Rp 7,000 for private cars starting on October 13. Rates for class II IV and V vehicles (trucks with those respective number of axles) would also be raised by Rp 1,000 to Rp 8,500, Rp12,500 and Rp 15,000 respectively. Class III trucks would only see toll rates rise Rp 500, making them Rp 10,000.
“In accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Public Works No. 783 / KPTS / M / 2016, which was signed on October 6, 2016, the new tariffs will be imposed on Toll Soedijatmo,” BPJT officer Kuncahyo said at an event to socialize the new tariffs today as quoted by Antara.
Kuncahyo said the toll increase was done in accordance with inflation rates. We just hope it somehow leads to shorter lines.
