Police found evidence that could explain the reason behind the apparent suicide of 14-year-old Arangga, who was found hanged in his closet last Wednesday. The police are suspecting that Arangga might have been influenced by violent movies.
“He (Arangga) really liked to watch horror movies. His status on his mobile phone were [related to horror movies]. He also liked to watch detective movies,” said Rusdy Dalby, head of the Crime Investigation Unit at the Pancoran Police Department, as quoted by Kompas yesterday.
That said, the police are still exploring other explanations behind the teenager’s suicide. Arangga’s parents were known to have divorced when he was a little boy. Arangga, who was an only child, saw both of his parents remarry and start new lives.
The police found no signs of violent struggle in the case of Arangga’s death. Rusdy predicted that Arangga had been hanging for 12 hours when his stepsister Wiwin found him on Wednesday at 6:30 am.
