Nineteen-year-old Rafqi became the victim of a doomed love triangle on Monday.
Rafqi and 19-year-old Joni were hanging out underneath the Penjaringan toll road in North Jakarta with their shared love interest, Sarah, as well as nine other friends.
Rafqi and Joni were drinking booze at the time. One thing led to another, Rafqi drunkenly warned Joni to back off from Sarah.
“Upset, Joni took out a knife and stabbed Rafqi in the abdomen. Unsatisfied, he sliced the victim’s abdomen open until his intestines spilled out,” said Penjaringan Police Chief Susetio Cahyadi, as quoted by Vivanews yesterday.
Joni then panicked and ran away to Tegal, Central Java. The police tracked him down and arrested him early Tuesday morning.
“When arrested, the suspect did not resist. We brought him back [to Jakarta] along with the knife as the murder weapon used against Rafqi,” Susetio said.
