Sudirman Mansion takes down noise complaint sign after Lucy in the Sky agrees to soundproof venue

It looks like one very noticeable noise complaint has achieved its goal of turning down the volume at popular SCBD rooftop bar Lucy in the Sky.

Earlier this week, residents of the nearby Sudirman Mansion apartment tower put up a huge sign on the front of their building complaining that their children can’t sleep at night because of the loud noise coming from the nearby nightlife venue.

However, Detik reported that the sign has been taken down after Lucy in the Sky’s management and the residents of Sudirman Mansion came to an agreement following a discussion mediated by Jakarta’s Tourism and Culture Agency.

Lucy in the Sky was given 14 days to soundproof its venue to reduce noise coming out of it. It was reported that the rooftop bar was actually required to soundproof its venue as per its initial licensing agreement, but had failed to do so until now.

In addition, Lucy in the Sky is not allowed to play any music at high volume until the soundproofing is installed.

Now if only everybody in the capital agreed to reduce noise pollution in their own way. Yes, we mean you, street dangdut performers.
