​Stay in Jakarta in style – 9 luxurious hotels due to open by 2018

We’ve had the big guns such as the Grand Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental, and Kempinski hotels standing tall along the Jalan Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin for a while. Soon, they’ll have to contend with even more luxurious hotels spread around Jakarta.

As reported in Kompas.com, despite an average occupancy rate of just 60-70% in luxurious hotels in Jakarta, nine more world-renowned hotel chains are opening up in the capital.

Fairmont Jakarta

To be located in Senayan Square, South Jakarta, Fairmont Jakarta will offer 374 rooms and 114 suites. The hotel will offer a large multipurpose room and a ballroom. Fairmont Jakarta is set to open in 2015.

St. Regis Hotel & Residence

St. Regis Hotel will open up in Jakarta along Jalan Gatot Subroto. It will offer 125 rooms and 26 suites. The hotel, which was apparently designed with a unique architectural aesthetic, will also offer high-class boutiques and restaurants. St Regis Hotel & Residence is set to open in January 2016.

Westin Hotel

Jakartans, as well as visitors, can experience the new Westin Hotel in Jakarta in March 2015. The 63-story high hotel, located on Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, will allow you to experience a breathtaking panoramic view of the city’s  skyline. There will be 250 rooms and suites at this hotel.

W Hotel

The W Hotel will be among the many hotels located on the planned Satrio International Shopping Belt in Kuningan. The hotel is set to open on New Year’s Day 2016. This luxurious hotel will offer 300 rooms and will be just a stone’s throw away from the legendary Mall Ambasador.

Raffles Hotel & Residences

Also located on the planned Satrio International Shopping Belt. Raffles Jakarta will offer 174 hotel rooms designed in the elegant and unique Raffles style. The smallest rooms will be 60 square meters in size, whereas the largest will be 240 square meters.

Rosewood Jakarta

Rosewood Jakarta will open its doors in 2017. It will be one another one of the luxurious hotels along the Satrio International Shopping Belt, with 200 rooms as well as 160 private apartments.

The Langham

The Langham will be located in District 8 of the SCBD in South Jakarta. With 170 rooms and 30 suites, the hotel is expected to open in 2017.

Waldorf Astoria

The most luxurious offering from the Hilton Worldwide Group. Waldorf Astoria Jakarta will be 74-story high and equipped with 181 rooms as well as a 2,000 square meters grand ballroom. The hotel is set to open in 2018.

Sofitel So

Sofitel So will operate in Jakarta for the first time under their “The Hundred” brand. The Hundred will be a mixed development area consisting of a 50-storey residential and hotel tower, as well as a 24-storey office tower in Mega Kuningan. Due to open in 2018.
