The case of Sri Wahyuni, a 42-year-old woman whose decomposing body was found in a car parked at Soekarno-Hatta Airport last November, shocked the city.

Sri’s former boyfriend, 31-year-old Jean Alter Huliselan, was found guilty of Sri’s murder today by the Tangerang District Court. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail for his heinous crime, in line with the prosecution’s sentencing demand.

“The defendant not only killed, but also stole the victim’s belongings. The defendant does not have any mitigating circumstances that could lighten his sentence,” Tangerang District Court prosecutor, Rizki Fahrul Rozi told the court, as quoted by Kompas

Jean Alter Huliselan was arrested on November 21, 2014, for Sri’s murder. According to the timeline of events presented in court, Jean strangled Sri to death in a car near Taman Gajah Darmawangsa in South Jakarta on November 15. After completing the murder he dumped the car and body at Soekarno-Hatta Airport before fleeing to Nabire, Papua.
