This is the third time we’ve reported on Fitri Aulia AKA Indonesia’s ‘Spider-Kid’ (which is one more than the number of Andrew Garfield’s amazingly unnecessary ‘Spider-man’ movies).
Fourteen-year-old Fitri, who earned her nickname in the media for climbing tall structures like transmission towers and the Ancol entrance gate without any safety equipment, was at it again today when she climbed another transmission tower in Ciputat, South Tangerang.
“Yes, that’s Fitri. She climbed early this morning, we’re monitoring the situation,” said a police officer at the scene, as quoted by Vivanews today.
The tower Fitri climbed today is 30-meters tall and she reportedly scaled it all the way to the top.
Authorities are not going to send someone up to collect Fitri, as previous experience suggests there is a more effective way to convince her to come down.
“She climbed the other day, but she agreed to come down when we showed her a Rp 100,000 note,” said an officer.
Perhaps Fitri figured out that this is a pretty good way to make money?
It hasn’t been reported if Fitri has made her way down yet.
