​South Jakarta Police arrest Padi guitarist Ari Tri Sosianto for drug possession

The South Jakarta Police Narcotics Investigation Unit arrested Ari Tri Sosianto, the lead guitarist for the once popular Surabaya-born band Padi, at a music studio in Ciputat today at around 3pm.

“He locked himself into the music studio’s second floor. The arrest was made based on information given to us by the public, so we did a forcible arrest today,” said South Jakarta Police Narcotics officer Hando Wibowo, as quoted by Tribunews.

In addition to arresting Ari, police also seized evidence including methamphetamines, a meth pipe, aluminum foil and lighters.

After the investigation and a urine test, Ari tested positive for drug use.

“There was an investigation and urine test. The result was he tested positive for amphetamines, ecstasy, and methamphetamine,” Hando said.
