Travelers, especially those who frequently fly with low-cost carriers to hop around Southeast Asia from Jakarta, should take note of important changes coming into effect very soon at the capital’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
As reported by Kompas, starting May 1, Terminal 2F will be designated exclusively for international flights operated by low-cost carriers. That means a lot of them will move from other terminals, as listed below:
- AirAsia international flights, from Terminal 2D
- Cebu Pacific, from Terminal 2D
- Lion Air Group (Lion Air, Thai Lion, Malindo) international flights, from Terminal 2D
- Jetstar Asia, from Terminal 3
Citilink’s international service and Singapore’s Scoot are also going to move their operations to 2F in the near future.
Terminal 2F currently serves AirAsia’s domestic flights, NAM Air and Sriwijaya Air flights. AirAsia domestic will be moved to Terminals 2D and 2E while Sriwijaya and NAM will be moved to 2D starting May 1.
In addition to the moves, Soekarno-Hatta officials say that Terminal 2F will encourage passengers to self check-in by reducing the number of check in desks and installing self check-in and baggage drop counters over the next couple of years.
Before you fly out of Soekarno-Hatta, be sure to always check which terminal you will board your plane from here.
