Sea World Ancol reopening very soon

Aquarium lovers in Jakarta were left high and dry last October when Sea World Ancol was forced to close its doors due to a contractual disagreement between the ocean-themed amusement park’s management and state-owned PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol.

In the end, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol took over Sea World Ancol’s management and is now planning to reopen the amusement park as soon as the end of this month.

“Either by the end of this month or early March, Sea World will be back in operation,” said the president of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, Gatot Setyo Waluyo, as quoted by Tribunnews today.

The deal giving the Ancol developer total rights over Sea World was signed on Feb 13. They are projecting that the amusement park will bring in about Rp 20 billion in revenue this year, adding about 7 percent to PT Jaya Ancol’s total projected revenues this year of Rp 257 billion.
