Satpol PP and sex workers in foot chase as police raid North Jakarta

The police’s public discipline unit, the Satpol PP, raided several locations in North Jakarta last night. They didn’t have a hard time confiscating unlicensed alcohol and apprehending street beggars, but they had some trouble trying to arrest sex workers.

According to Merdeka, close to midnight last night, the Satpol PP unit headed to Jalan Yos Sudarso, where there were several sex workers hanging out in a park. Seeing the Satpol PP coming, all the sex workers tried to flee the area.

But perhaps a foot chase against the Satpol PP was not the wisest thing to get into when you don’t have the proper footwear for running.

Needless to say, the Satpol PP eventually caught up to the sex workers and arrested all of them. The women, most of them still in their 20s, were all taken on board the Satpol PP truck and driven to a police station for questioning.
