Though this is nowhere as insane as that time a man cut off his alleged wife’s rapist’s penis (and then fried it, and then ate it), this story again shows that love does indeed make people commit the most heinous of crimes.
Yesterday morning, 29-year-old Johar Baru resident Agus Priyatno overheard his wife, 28-year-old Asminah, chatting with their neighbor, a 52-year-old man identified as S. Agus was understandably livid when he heard S make a joke to Asminah about sleeping with him.
But what Agus next would be considered, by most, to be something of an overreaction.
“When S walked in front of his house, Agus quickly went into the kitchen. At the time, his wife was frying fish. Agus then took the wok which contained hot cooking oil,” said Johar Baru Police Chief Commissioner Wiyono, as quoted by Infonitas yesterday.
Agus then took that wok filled with hot cooking oil and splashed it on S. To add insult to injury, he, along with his nephew Acuk, began kicking S as he writhed in agony.
Locals quickly intervened and took S to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for treatment. Agus and Acuk were both arrested and could face up to five years in prison for their crime.
