Primary school teacher accused of molesting two students after threatening them with bad grades

A primary school teacher in East Jakarta has been accused of molesting two of her students, aged 9 and 10. Police are investigating into the case.

The alleged sexual abuse was first revealed by the two children, who complained to their parents about pain in their genitals. They then told their parents that they were abused by their teacher, whom the police are identifying with the initial J.

“The victims were forced to follow the suspect’s desires because [the victims] were threatened that they wouldn’t pass and would get bad grades, which scared the victims,” said Tejo Yuwantoro, head of the Crime Investigation Unit at the East Jakarta Police, as quoted by Vivanews today.

Tejo added that the two victims have been medically examined, though he did not reveal the results.

The police are now in the process of gathering more evidence and interviewing witnesses to support the case against the teacher.
