The Presidential Palace has confirmed that President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo is in good health despite his son, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming (whom Jokowi met recently), testing positive for COVID-19.

The palace said that Jokowi recently met with Gibran in the Central Java city, but there has been no need to raise concerns regarding the president’s health at this point.

Bapak president is in good health and is carrying out his routines,” Heru Budi Hartono, who heads the Presidential Secretariat Office, said today.

Gibran confirmed yesterday evening that his PCR test came out positive on Friday. He reportedly has mild symptoms including coughing, and is now self-isolating at his official residence.

Gibran has delegated his duties to Deputy Mayor Teguh Prakosa.

Jokowi was known to have last met with his eldest son on Feb. 28 during the funeral of the president’s uncle, Miyono Suryosadjono, in Solo, Central Java.
